Faith Community Nurse Course – March 9-12, 2018
Join Donna Smith-Pupillo, executive director of Deaconess Nurse Ministry in St. Louis, for a three-day course in faith community nursing. Donna is an RN, an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, and is certified by the Westberg Faith Community Nurse Center.
When: March 9-12, 2018, starting at 10:30 on Friday morning and ending by noon on Monday.
Where: St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Holts Summit, MO
Cost: $115 for supplies. Participants will also be responsible for lodging. Three meals will be provided. Participants are encouraged to seek financial assistance from their local parishes.
Course organizers will assist in locating lodging accommodations.

The Ministry is accomplished through the provision of professional, onsite medical and health evaluations, health care educational program, navigational assistance, and individual case management.
Primary roles of the Parish Nurse also include:
- Integrator of health and faith
- Health educator, counselor and advocate
- Referral source and advocate
- Advance Care planning facilitation
