The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is a unique and successful anti-poverty program of the U.S. Catholic bishops.  Based on the principles of empowerment and self-help, it provides financial and technical assistance to low-income community groups seeking institutional change in the social, political and economic arenas.

In over a 40-year period, CCHD dollars have funded more than 250 organizations in the diocese that fight poverty.

Funds are raised through an annual collection and through donations from individuals and parishes.

A local advisory committee makes annual funding recommendations to the Bishop.

Grant applications are accepted during January and February each year.
